Cookies are very small files that a web site can save on your computer. They're generally used to customize a web site for you. For example, Tech Support Guy uses cookies to keep track of what your user name is while you use the site. Some weather sites use cookies to remember your zip code. Although a lot of people fear these mysterious cookies, they are almost always harmless. The worst cookies can do is track what you do at a web site. Cookies cannot harm your system or give you viruses or spam. If you're worried, though, you can always clear out your cookies (see below), but remember that doing so may prevent sites like Tech Support Guy from logging you in automatically.
