System requirements

From TSG Library of Knowledge

Jump to: navigation, search

PC Games have a list of requirements that a computer must have in order to run the game properly. If all of these requirements are not met, then the game will not be fully supported, and should not be expected to run properly.

The easiest way to tell if your computer is able to run a game is to use the Can You RUN It? test. This is an ActiveX/Java component which compares your system specifications against the requirements of the game you'd like to play.

If your computer meets or exceeds the minimum system requirements, and a game does not work, then chances are, your video card drivers just need to be updated.

If this does not solve the problem, then a thread should be started in the Games forum with your DXDiag report included.
